The sr is going to go into a 280z. 77 2+2. I'm going to run a factory internal bottom half till I know its going to run well.. And have all primary issues taken care of. At which time the warmed over beast will be tossed in its place. the current build is going to be (well is) freshened bottom (new rings, bearings etc), the top is handlapped valves, with brian crower springs (not the retainers, long life of steel), all new seals throughout, arp head studs, cometic head gasket, isis rocker stoppers, greddy type intake, top mount header, iridium plugs, gt35, 4" turbo back exhaust, Alluminum crank pulley, 13 lbs flywheel, and a heavier clutch.... I also did touch the area just below the seats of the valves for a little better flow, was the most restrictive (ever so slightly) of the ports, so should help a smidge..
this is almost 100% and gonna do the swap VERY shortly. the z is currently running a 280zx turbo engine (yeah old school tec), its been recently rebuilt, and had some nuts to say the least. I am hoping that I gain more than I lose, for the bse swap.. I plan to lose a little in the torque, but hope to gain the hp, and lighten enough to see an improvement..... the l28 currently in it has a bit of head work done to make it snotty, and sports a 62-1 turbo. it spools fast as sheet and has enough torque to spit out half axels, all day long.... But I'ma be upgradeing to the z31 rear diff, so that shouldn't be a problem after that.
Currently this is going to be running the factory ecu, but I've got some tricks to get a few extra hp out of the nissan afm type ecu, such as slight bypass of afm, with raised fuel pressure, slightly bumped timing, and methanol helps too..... But anyway, thats my introduction.... So any questions ask, any hints I'm open. Now whats the best inexpensive tuneing for these? is the vve variant worth it?
the list is of the current build. I'm lacking a few bolts ect before its all together (3 bell housing bolts, a few valve cover nuts, little odds and ends) But the next build will be a forged (cp piston, and ?eagle? rods, arp main studs, full balance ect) bottom, ported polished head, stainless valves and a big cam... but I won't be doing that for some time, and thats if I don't put it in and say what the..... lol, no I won't lol.....
so anyway, theres the introduction...
