The only way you are gonna get a street legal RB is to buy a legally imported and registered Skyline. But other than that, no, non-legal.

The SR20DET and CA18DET are not legal for street use either. But you can buy them and install them legally for track (non-road ) use.

But who cares really if it's legal or not? Not me. Maybe the EPA and air nazi's.

It's legal you just gotta know the right people. :D A stock sr should pass normal emissions testing, but will fail a visual inspection with out monetary persuasion. :batman

I wish I did know some1 on the inside. What happens if they do the visual inspection and they see the sr20?

You fail. Unless they are completly inept and think its a ka. But still you gotta have the proper smog crap as well. Unless they are really dumb. It is an off road use only engine. I live in Tennessee where we only have smog thats all, and some counties don't even have that. :ylsuper

A lot of places don't.

Florida has axed their inspection program entirely from what I've heard.

In Rockingham county, we don't have any kind of emissions testing at all. It's all safety stuff.

And these tardmonkeys woudn't know an SR from a VG. But they can tell the difference between a 350 and a 383...by the way it sounds.

By the way, I posted this without any pants. How does that make you feel?

I know I'll be able to sleep better at night knowing this.

I always found it advantageous to go to the "bad parts" of town to get your inspection done. Some of those cars over there shouldnt be on the road period. I am in TX so the smog is out of the way. Of course knowing a car dealer helps as well. :pface

Yes indeed I live in wilson county. I don't believe I know any of them, but then again me and last names don't agree. I have some friends I don't even know their last names. What ages are we looking at here? I graduated in 2001.

Is there any way that you could check if the area you live in does emissions testing?

LOL you do realize this is Tennessee. There were about 20 of those cars at my school. I'll bust out the old year books. I was In school in 98 and new a few of the graduates. :batman
