Go the KA-E route and forget the SR20 crap.TheSilviaGuy wrote:hey, I have had computer issues and had to swap out the tuned ecu, now with the new ecu, it won't read my RB26 MAF. I am selling this car soon so I'm looking for a cheap-ish fix (ie. no safc or sending the ecu out), and I would also like to keep my RB26 MAF for my other Silvia. So, I have a spare SR20 MAF and was wondering if I could wire it up somehow? I found a way that a KA-E MAF would work. But I don't have one on hand. If I can't wire up the SR20 MAF, I will go the KA-E route.
No. Don't even bother. If you can't find one, I have a KA-E AFM that I'm not using. Don't go experimenting or you may make matters worst.TheSilviaGuy wrote:I've got a KA24E MAF now, but my friend could not find the connector on his harness and neither could I. Is there anything I could try to do to wire up my SR20 MAF for now? I'd like to get this car moving asap. The SR20 MAF and KA24E look the same, but have different part numbers and different connectors.
I may look into ordering just a connector, but being such an old vehicle, I doubt I'll find anything.
People switch over to Z32 MAFS all the time and i know your right that there isn't a direct replacement for the CA MAFS except for another CA MAFS but other MAFS will workfloat_6969 wrote:You can't use the SR20 MAFS on the CA. It'll run like crap. The KA-E MAFS might work, but it won't run great. There isn't a direct replacement for the CA MAFS except for another CA MAFS.
He should check his computer to see what code is being displayed. If he is running an AFM other than the one the ecu was calibrated to operate, then he is going to have a disgruntled car.s1390 wrote:So just curious what would the symptoms be if someone had the wrong MAF wired in? Would the motor spit or backfire because i have a friend with a ca and it spits at idle.
Your 100% right.. I checked the part number on his MAF and this is what I found 22880 40F00 AFH50-04boost_boy wrote:He should check his computer to see what code is being displayed.
