I have another post about a maf problem but was talking to someone on another forum and they said it sounded like the rpm of a speed cut. The problem is my car wont rev past 4300 rpm, kind of sounds like a rev limiter. I do have a bee*r power builder but all this stuff worked fine in the donor car, it just so so extremely rich. Which i later found to be the z32 maf wired wrong, so i fixed that. I didnt bother to look at the lower harness in the donor car (didnt know i needed too, and no longer have it) So im using the stock ka lower harness in my s13 with just reverse lamp and speedo hooked up. The gear position harness is zip tied up. Anyone help?

None of the gear position switches affect idle or give the car a rev limiter like what you're experiencing.

Whatever you're using for fuel management is probably the culprit. Normally if the MAF was wired in wrong, you wouldn't be able to get it over 2500 RPM, so since your issue happens higher than that, I would start narrowing it down to other culprits in the line.

ok, thanks that puts it back on track to a point. I have it wired as b-signal, c/d-grounds (tied to the same ground wire on the sr maf harness) and e-power. I tested it as the fsm says (for a 300zx of course) and functions normal for the most part, its just when you let it come to a idle the volts on the signal stay below 1 volt for a short while. I tried un hooking the maf to see if it was bad and it wouldnt rev above 1500 then. What do you think could be wrong. I really think the maf is wired right. Its just, it worked in the donor car before i did the swap. It has a apexi neo (previous owners choice, im switching to nistune in a few weeks)
