was wondering, i heard that using a KA transmission on a sr20 is common, because its a stronger transmission. anyone else hear of this or do this? what did you get out of it, ups/downs. in this case i might keep the KA transmission instead of selling it when my sr20 comes in.

Most engines come with ur transmission. If you wana disconect crap you could use your KA one...i dont know why you would care. maybe...which one has been treated nicer?

transmission strength is same with the KA or SRI believe that the gears on the KA are longerthere is more teeth in the gears. You will stay in each gear less and have horrible gas milage in 5th since it revs above like 3,500 at 70 mphcorrect me if im wrong. Haven't seen it driving but in theory, i think it's correct.

in order for you to do this is to change the mid section cantaining the gearbox to the SR20 housing that bolts up to the motor.

Give it a try. You might like it.
