hey everyone, well i am looking into gtir itb's, i already know the plenum will not work with the rwd so i am making a custom plenum out of aluminum already. i was wondering since the gtir's are MAP sensored, does anyone know if i would have to do some wiring to get the throttle bodies to work properly, or would i need to run stand alone or map based engine managment to make this modification to work properly? im guessing i will just need to tune it using the rwd ecu and safc which i already have also. just wondering if anyone knows forsure if i need to use fwd ecu to make this work and do some wiring? thanks. and if you are going to tell me its a waste of time blah blah blah i dont want to hear it. thanks everyone.

You just keep the system closed, and run a MAF with the same ECU.

^What he said.

Your car is really nice btw...that's why I really wanted to reply!

As for the GTiR ITB's, the only thing that sucks is that your gas pedal will be really, really stiff. Good luck mang!

THere is also talk that you will need to retune your car for the ITB. I do not think it would be necessary, but i could be wrong. Umm also what are u doing this for, alot of ppl with RB26 go from ITB to one TB for making more power. If u are doing it for throttle responce, then this is good. Just my two cents.

thanks for nice car reply as far as tuning goes im not to concerned because i have an apexi safc to give it a rough tune as far as putting more fuel to compensate for the extra air. and the main thing i want to do this is for throttle response yes. itb's and a v mount intercooler setup with t28 and cams is the goal of the project. i am an n/a guy so response is important to me.

Your car doesn't run on a MAP system, you will not need to retune the engine for the most part. MAF systems respond positively towards VE mods due to the MAF being able to resolute any additional incoming air and adjusting the timing / fuel maps accordingly.

I don't think you will see a large increase in power, possibly 5-6 whp on the top end due to the manifold utilizing a higher resonance peak.
