okay so how hard and how much time does it take to put the sr20det into a 90 240 sx? ive read the hybrid how to done by sport compact car this past year and i am very mechanically and electronically inclined. i have the tools etc and all of my friends have gas tanks for brains and nitrous in their blood. i want to know if its as easy as it sounds is the scc article. thanks for your time

If you think you're good, and you have 4 or 5 friends to help, then it should be a breeze. With help, you could pull out the KA in 2 or 3 hours, and drop the SR in, in about 45 minutes. Then you just have to reinstall everything, depending on which engine you're dropping into whichever chassis. The wiring is the hard part, which no one ever seems to do a completely perfect job on. I'd say a couple days on that, if you're really good. Although, no offense, but if you're getting advice from SCC, then I'd have to doubt you're ability to get this job done in 2-3 days.

Heavythrottle has a very good FAQ for putting an SR into a 240, they have lists of what's neccessicary, what's recomended, what it might cost, and how to do it. Check it out http://www.heavythrottle.com Chris

TURBO and high-tech performance.kinda obvious, TURBO mag.

anyway, this months issue has an article about sr20 swaps into 240sx's, along with plenty of other common swaps. i havent read it to see if its any good but, i figure ill give the heads up.

Import Tuner is ricey. When you focus on how to work on your stereo. Not that there anything wrong with a stereo, it's just not my thing. Anyway SCC, Turbo, Superstreet, and Import Tuner along with European Car and a few others are all made by the same company. I think. Turbo doesn't impress me at all. They don't have turbo cars in there half the time. I like SCC because of the technical stuff. I could give a $%^# about some ricey car in the mag I just move onto the tech.

about the wiring what if you were to get heavythrottle or daunttless to do it (pretty sure i read somewhere we will do it) i know heavythrottle is $300 for an S13 SR into an S14 and Daunttless will do it for $200 i think with how many swaps they have under their belts thats seems liek the best idea if i were to go through with it since im mechanically inclined but not too electircally. anybody go through HT to do their wiring?

Wow ... this thread is fun!

First FaTF did start a scene. rice. and in my oppinion people eventualy learn that its not the tailights that make a car fast.

its the size of its snail.

Any who. I love SCC. ITs thick, costs 6 bucks and provides a whole night of fun "like something else i got"

Turbo is fun except.. well half the cars arnt turbo. Superstreet i read for the humor. there idiots lol and have lots of JDM JGTC cars inside.Import tuner. there models are nice, not to mention there pics are great. love there article called horsepower 101 "Boost! the magic of forced induction"

oh ya quit flaming over magazines and movies =P
