Problem was solved.

Story:

I race a Turbo VW one night, redline my car, no o2 sensor installed and no temp gauge installed. A short moment later after I ran the living Candy outta my car it bogs down on 3rd gear. misfires completely on cyl #3. i get home tear the engine apart find #3 plug black. no intermix, good fuel pressure and bad turbo seal.

go on further and find myself a hole thru that #3 piston =]

rann LEAAANNN!!!

cause of sluggish runs.. hahah

:lolling:

now i no longer own this 240sx. had fun times tho!

First off, get rid of the extra fuel filter (the one towards the front of the car). All of your compression numbers seem a little low, did you have the throttle wide open when you did them? I'd do a leak down on number 4 and see if it's leaking through the intake, exhaust, rings, or into the coolant. It's also possible that the low compression is because the timing jumped, so put it to tdc on the compression stroke and see where your cams are lined up.

You shouldn't be boosting 15psi on a stock fuel pump, so it's possible that you ran it a little too lean and damaged something.

I THINK so, but it's been a while since I put mine in, so I'm not positive.

throttle was not open when i did the compression test...

and ive replaced fuel filters, spark plugs, and plug wires.. all 4 coil packs spark..

and oil dipstick looks fine. yesterday the car was smoking a little.. [ light white smoke ]

sounds like a misfire

today i poured lucas fuel system cleaner and 93 octane gas...

but i still need to check how my cams are lined up

this sounds exactly like my car... do you think this is the same problem as mine?

if so do you guys think replacing the ignitor chip would change anything?

That is a knock off walbro pump. The OEM ones are huge.My car sounded like that and it was a dead cylinder. Obviously in your case it is #1. Mine was just a completely fouled plug, but it could be #1 injector or maybe a blow out on the intake gasket that leads to the #1 cylinder...

so as you said. What all did you replace when you had the same problem?

I'm thinking this problem may be my CAS.

Im checking the timing with a timing light right now

so i did the timing light and it looks like im off 1 tick.

tdc hits the first tick from right to left.

i believe its supposed to line up with the 2nd one?

could this be my problem?

Did the black plug come from cylinder #4? It looks like the black plug was combusting some oil, indicating that the rings are experiencing more blow-by than normal. I recommend that you do a compression and leakdown test. Make sure your battery is fully charged and the throttle is wide-open to get the best compression reading. Follow the FSM procedures.

You need to get rid of that second fuel filter (the one sending return fuel from the fuel rail back to the fuel tank. The return line is connected to the FPR). You only need a fuel filter before the inlet side of the fuel rail.

Injectors are supposed to click. They are solenoids that activate and spray fuel into their respective combustion chambers when given a signal from the ECU.

How does your oil look like? If it looks like chocolate milk, then it is very likely that you have a blown head gasket and that coolant and oil are mixing.

oil looks fine, golden brown.

Ive removed the 2nd fuel filter, done a compression test

but i have yet to check my voltage on my redtop optima battery

and Im yet to do a leakdown test.

I took it to a turbo shop and the guy said he will charge me 85 to do the leak down test.and he said its most likely a piston ring or blown head gasket.

if it is a blown headgasket then why am i NOT getting white smoke, chocolate milk oil, or horrible compression?

any other ideas besides doing a leakdown test?i found 3 fuel injectors for my redtop on craigslist for 60$

should i buy them and replace mine to see if the problem is fixed?

its not a blown head gasket. if it has a blown head gasket there would have been water in your engine already. most likely piston rings, sounds like a rod knock too. or if not that you pistons is melting its a** away! compression is way too low even if timing is off by a little compression will not be that low. it should be around 150 to 160 all across

sometimes on blown head gaskets you dont have symptoms until the motor is toast. main one being a exhaust side blowout the only real way to tell is check for moisture at the header or manifold.

I don't see how it could have hurt anything by being off, but that is definitely why the engine was running bad.You might want to get some rocker arm stoppers.

So today I got the rocker arm in the mail, put it in place and TOTALLY FORGOT that the shims are not in place, so im guessing they are in the oil pan?! lol

I put the rocker arm in but now its ticking because the shims aren't in with the new rocker =[

now I have to wait a week to get the shims in so i can drive !!! FTW.

well anyways i would like to say that the rocker arm was the problem to my engine shaking and running poor!!!!!! hip hip.. hoooray

Anyways, I'll be back on here when I get the new shims

Thanks to everyone who helped me!

Wow. I ordered the new parts last week on. 4-06-10 From http://www.performancenissanparts.com A.K.a. = http://www.mynismo.com

and as of today! they have not shipped my Fu****g parts!

I just called them at their 1866 214 2933number and the parts lady said" oh were sorry, we didnt ship the parts out because your address is incorrect." WTF. TOTAL BULL ****my IRS tax return check just came in and said the exact fu**ing address i put down for mynismo.com

Beware buyers. if you need parts quick dont go there.

I heard about them through here and turns out they dont ship until they feel like it.

I was told my parts would be in by friday, Saturday (4-10-10) the latest and look at me now. I took today off to work on my car and this S*** happens.

I had to call them to get the news that its not in the mail yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!

F**K

Just thought i'd share my horrible day thanks to MYNISMO.COM

*I would have rather payed the 34 $ from http://www.FRSPORT.comto get them in on time ( my car would've been fixed on saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!* rather than saving $15 dollars to get them in 12 days from http://www.mynismo.com when the shipping I paid for said 1-5 days tops.

FML and Fu** mynismo.com If i dont get overnight shipping. for their bull shi* and wasting my time.

be back tomorrow, as they said I would get overnight shipping free. which I totally doubt since they cant handle my $5 shipping.my parts : rocker shim and guard only weigh 4 effing grams.

I regret not paying 34$ to buy the rocker shim and guard from http://www.frsport.com

Sorry frsport.

back again... so I fixed my car. this whole problem was a BROKEN rocker ARM!

last month i replaced it as well as the shim and rocker guide!

but i have some bad news!

after i fixed the car i took it out for a death drive.

Ran the S**T out of it. and next thing you know BAM! blown turbo seals =[

so now i need to replace the turbo because its smoking like a freight train.
Ive checked the internals and they are fine,,

and Ive blown a turbo before so im positive of the problem.

pics up tomorrow of me taking off the exhaust manifold and turbo for the noobs =]

anyone selling a working t25 or t28?
