I'm planning on starting my sr20 for the first time weekend. The motor is tuned for 16psi and has map converion. Will the car start up with out a fmic setup and will it run stupid rich at idle since im not running boost controller or will it idle fine. I just want to hear it run for few minutes.

It all depends on what tune you are using. Are you running a Side Mount Intercooler or you just wanting to see it run? What maf are you using stock SR20 maf, Z32 Maf, Air sensor for ECU, etc. Only way to find out is turn the key. The car should run at 6-7psi stock boost if you don't have a controller hooked up. As far as idling that will be determined when you start the car. Good Luck. :)

OP already stated it was MAP converted

Im curious about this set up, im assuming its no longer running a t-25 considering the 16psi

What software is it tuned with? more info please?

Step 1 cams should hold a lot more SR20 powah. Mike back in the day made 476rwhp with those step 1 cams. Built bottom end .20 over, 850cc injectors ,26psi on a SC61, 50/50 C16 race and pump. That was ridiculous in 2004. Good choice on the Power FC tune.

Here is a video of his runs.

Can you keep it running by opening the throttle a little?

So while sleeping i was thinking about your post and bang it hit me. I forgot to plug the map connector into the powerfc and the dash ground  . Gonna plug it in and try this weekend.

I kinda have a similar setup but 810cc Deatchwerks injectors, z32 MAF, and Enthalphy Rom tune. I just got it to run last week, sounds awesome in my opinion. Btw: which cams do you have the new 256 11.5 mm lift or old 264s?

HKS 256 11.5mm lift stage 1 Intake cam and 264 10mm lift Stage 1 Exhaust cam is what i have. I'm probably gonna get bigger injectors in 2013 when i get comfortable with 320whp

The 264 is the old type? To my understanding the new 264s require aftermarket valve springs, but I've heard of people running without stiffer springs.

The valve springs aren't the only problem. The stock retainers tend to bind with a higher duration cam.
