Whats up, thanks to everyone answering all my questions lately. I've been searching the entire webs but I can't get a straight answer. I am starting to think that my ECU for my CA is fried, I can't locate another CA ECU. So, I am wondering about taking an sr20 ecu, repining the ecu harness on the plug, adding a daughter board with a CA18 tune on it. Any chance in hell this would work? If not, what about a KA24E or DE computer?

Thanks again everyone!

with all that work you could just buy an entry-level standalone. Why bother?

I've been told Mine's CA18DET ecu's actually use SR20DET maps. Also...Rhombus Tuning used a rewired SR20DET PowerFC in their CA18DET project car (not sure which maps.....probably SR basemaps to start with) The SR ecu will not operate your butterfly actuator tho.

My butterfly actuator connection stops 3 inches after the pin on the ecu lol. I am just thinking this because SR ecu's are like $50,i have a daughter board and get chips for not that much. Unless anyone wants to sell me a CA18det ecu!

If you have a little bit of time to dedicate you should be able to piece together a megasquirt setup and not have to worry about the freakin ca ecu anymore. Not to mention you get rid of the cas and coil packs, so you stand the chance of getting a somewhat (ghasp) more reliable ca. Plus you can resell this stuff on ebay or forums and regain your initial cost of most of the standalone setup.
That's just food for thought though

i run a s14 sr ecu. A bit easier on install then the regular s13 sr, but it cost more and is harder find. Think i posted up a wiring for it, long time ago.

Anyways if you looking to put a regular s13 sr ecu in it, then u need the plug, and both the ecu pinouts. then match up the wires one by one.

You can run the SR Apexi PFC on the CA engine with a few simple mods, not sure about a std S14 ECU though.

Have you tried the SXOC for a replacement ECU, always loads floating around and you'll be able to find someone who is willing to ship internationally.

I have one if you still want a stock and functioning ecu. You don't want to use SR maps on a CA or you'll pay for it later and this I can promise :tisk: .
