Car is an 89 240sx with an SR20 swap. Swap was done years ago and has always run well. It's been parked for the past two years. I started it this spring and moved it and it ran fine.

Now I'm trying to get it started and it starts up, and will sometimes sputter out or sometimes keep idling relatively smoothly. But any time I ever try to hit the gas, it dies instantly. RPMs drop and shuts down.

There are two things I've changed since running it last. I'm using a different battery and the terminals don't fit 100%, kinda sloppy. And I had a Walbro fuel pump in there, but I swapped it into my race car, so now I've just got a stock fuel pump.

Does this sound like a fuel pump issue? Vacuum lines maybe? Like I said, it dies as soon as I touch the gas.

Not positive, but the stock fuel pump replacement may be poor or not be able to keep up. Have you tried to swap back the Walbro?

Haven't tried that yet, as the Walbro is in my race car in storage. :) But it might be the solution so I'll probably do that tomorrow and hopefully that will solve the problem!

If I'm understanding correctly ,if you had it parked for two years. I've heard the fuel pump can clog up due to old or bad fuel.Try also to check your fuel filter, could be clogged.
