I just had a question. When performing an SR swap what is necesary for the A/C to work.

I hear that the compressor used needs to be from the sr 20. What about the lines? Do they come from the ka or the sr?

What about the condensor and dryer? Do you use the SR dryer or condensor?

Thank youChris

From what I've read it makes a difference if you have an S13 or an S14 and if you have an S13 SR or an S14 SR, so we need a little more info before your question can be answered.

From my own experience, S13 SR into an S13 chassis, the front two bolts will work to bolt the compressor to the engine. One of the AC lines fits, one does sometimes and doesn't in other cases. For me it went directly in front of my inlet for the turbo. Of course later on I found out that I could have maybe bent this line and made it work without breaking it.

Thanks for the info Beau. I have an s13 and plan to do an blacktop sr20. So I take it that you use both the prveious AC lines as well as some AC lines from the front clip?

I would first try to install the SR w/ your KA A/C lines so that you can avoid refilling the system. If there is some interference then try bending the line first, if it breaks then it's no big deal because the system was going to be evacuated anyway to install a different line. Then I'd try the A/C line from the clip, then if all else fails have a custom one made at an AC shop.

Hey I just did the same setup. Blacktop into S13 but they made a custom line for the compressor and then converted my system to R12 to a R134A. It runs cold but Im having a problem right now not getting ground on my relay...nothing dealing with the AC system just stupid car...anywho you can go to http://www.xatracing.com/ contact them and talk to taylor or Sean cause they made the AC line for me and did the conversion. Tell them Nghi (Nee) sent ya cause the custom line they made for me was different from the redtop SR.
