I was wondering if anybody could help me figure out if there was any difference in Chassis between the different years of Datsun 510 models. I ask because I will be searching for one in order to swap my sr20det into it and wanted to know if there was a specific year of 510s that were ideal for the swap. I am still in the process of gathering as much information as possible before I begin.

I really appreciate any help

thanks in advance.

there are lots of minor differences between the years.as far as swapping motors in.....the engine bays are all pretty much the same throughout, so theres no "better" year of 510 to go for in that respect.

if you want a car with a oldskool "bar" type speedo, then get a 68-69......if you'd prefer a car with a more normal "round" speedo, then get a 70-72.68 had "mcdonalds" wipers ( wipers worked opposite to each other in the shape of a big M ).69 + all had normal wipersthe grilles change a little throught aswell, but only really minor stuff.the 68-69 also had different tail lights and slightly smaller indicator lenses on the front and the guards ( fenders in USA? )
