hi, im jon. i'm new and i need a lil help. i've recently bought an sr20 from a northern virginia company called jei. cool guys. i brought the engine to a machine shop in chesapeake va called magnum machines. also cool guys. but they find that my crank shaft is a little jacked up. on the main journals on the transmission side, it is ground down about 1mm all around. the options they gave me are to buy a new nitrided one for $800 through them or $650 through nissan or get a refurb kit for $250.

this afternoon i started thinking, the lists of parts they're looking through are probably for an sr20 from a b13 200sx or something, fwd. now if i went with their parts, would that kind of thing be interchangable (fwd sr20 crankshaft to rwd sr20)? i really don't think so but like i said i'm new.

and yes, i looked around the forums a little bit and found a rwd sr part number so i'll be giving them cats at nissan a call to see if they can find me one of them so yes.

but any help would be highly appreciated! thanks for your time!

The part number I have for the RWD crank crosses over to the FWD crank. 12200-60J10

The price I pulled through Midway Nissan brand new was $594.48

I got a re-manufactured crank through Falconglobal for $200. It was refurbished by federal mogul. They will also supply you with bearings and thrust washers. I think they might still have a couple left. All of the crank and rod journals were machinede to a uniform size and printed clearly on the packageing. The overall quality looked to be very good. I just dropped it off at my machine shop with the rest of my rotating assembly this morning and will know more specifics in a couple days or so.. also falcon global is on e-bay (this is a reman. nissan crank) not a knock off by a aftermarket company, it came with King bearings which from the research I have done is a pretty reputable company. Good luck.
