Guys, this is Jim's friend, I am trying to help him with his 240sx sr20 swap. We have been chasing our tails for a couple months with a no-start condition. The injectors are firing, fuel is being injected, but we have no spark. We had problems with the wiring harness and finally sent it off to Wiring Specialties to be built. The ECU turned out to be bad so we got a replacement. This ECU is good and we have a code 55.

In an attempt to figure out what's going on, we finally got a consult adapter and hooked it up. I noticed a few problems and there are some other things I have questions about.

#1 the TPS reading only goes up to .04 volts when the throttle is floored. Seems like the TPS is probably wired up wrong or is bad. I am sure this won't cause a no start condition though since it's stuck reading closed throttle.

#2 the MAF sensor seems to be wired up wrong because it's at zero volts and only rarely flickers briefly to .01 volts. Either that or the sensor is bad. I'm guessing that this would not cause a no-spark condition though.

#3 there is a reading for an Exhaust Gas Temperature sensor that is reading 4.98 volts. Is there even such a sensor on this engine?

#4 the O2 sensor is reading zero volts.

#5 every time I crank the engine, the consult software disconnects from the ECU and I have to manually reconnect it. this seems abnormal

#6 the consult software does show a "CRANKING" flag whenever cranking, and the pulsewidth jumps up to 6 ms, but there is no RPM registered on the display. it stays at zero. should the cranking RPM be displayed, or should it remain at zero until the engine starts? it seems almost like the connection between the software and ECU probably gets severed right as cranking starts, but it's hard to be sure cause it takes a minute for the software to time out

Anybody got any ideas or good suggestions? Thanks, this is pretty frustrating.
