sr20 Buyers Guide?

I am not engine incompetent but I was wondering if there's anything unusual or crazily obvious I should be looking for when buying an S14 engine. The one I am going to be looking at is in a 240 (I assume its an s14, but I'm not sure, the posting only mentions the engine which is a notch top). I have access to a lift, and an excellent assortment of tools, so any advice would be an interesting read.
