Ok so i feel really dumb posting this as i should be able to figure this out, but i have an sr20 blacktop that is idling around 2,000. I tightened that little plastic idle screw as far down as i could which dropped it from its original idle of 3,000, but i tightened so tight thats its stripped now. Anyone got any ideas on a means of fixing this?

Thanks

Try cleaning your IACV by shooting some carb cleaner in that hole where the screw goes.

Check your TPS first though and make sure the voltage is correct iirc it should be at like .37V closed throttle.

Sometimes using an auto ECU can cause a much higher idle. What ECU are you using?

It shouldn't be THAT high though because I'm using an auto ECU on my redtop and it doesn't idle at 2k RPM.

Its a manual ECU but i will check the TPS and post back. I just put a new TPS on and it was cold and dark...kinda rushed it.

I used to run an auto 63 ecu on my redtop for years. The idle was above 2000. It went down when I disconnected a light blue wire near the ecu.

Have you tried to adjust your throttle cable?

Well it wasn't the tps. I dunno what the problem was but it fixed itself right after I raced this mustang the other day. But thanks for the help.
