Has anyone tested when is the perfect time to shift on the sr engine. I know that for the KA it was about 55k rpm, is there something like that for the sr???

Thanks

Charlie

just a stab in the dark, don't have my sr yet, but pretty positive that the sr is nowhere near the 5500 rpm like the ka, they have very different powerbands

I believe it's around 6500 rpm in first gear on a stock turbo.

That's only for first gear...a while back someone dyno'd a stock 240sx with sr in it and all the power hit about 6500 rpm so you would shift just about there or 7k rpm.

The rest of the gears I do not know...you're gonna just have to test whatever you like most.

always shift at redline... you come back to a sweeter part of the powerband in the next gear.

You do know that you shouldnt be out of the gas entirely if you are Racing (i guess thats why we are shifting at redline). You should be keeping the RPMS up between shifts.

If ur racing for times or against someone tough take it to 7 but if its not that deep be nice to ur engine. 6500ish is good for usual hard acceleration. I got a friend who wont take his se-r to redline ever. its a DE not det. but its kinda the same.

Mine on the dyno 3rd gear pull made peak close to 6500rpm. I will have the dyno sheets on the website as soon as I can for you guys to check out.
