SR Wont Rev Past 2500!

Sorry guys if this topic has talk about before. I have search up and down on this forum and others but no luck! anyway My SR is in safe mode right now, it won't rev past 2500 rpm has soon has it hit 2500 RPM the engine act like it hit a rev limt or fuel cut off!

Please give me some pointer to where should I start looking for the cause of it!

can't rev beyond 2500 RPM... 9/10 times that is MAF related.

Make sure your hot/cold pipes didnt come off the turbo/TB. I had this happen to me with the same symptoms and more when my cold pipe came off my TB.

MAF like everyone else has said. Boost leak doesnt cause those systems it causes physical flooding of th engine.

Wrong. My cold pipe came off and it had exactly those symptoms and some.

my hotpipe blew off a few times which is a serious boost leak and i couldnt rev past a like 1500rpm..but it also bucked while reving up to 1500rpm..if it revs smooth check into your maf..is it the stock sr20 maf or a z32? if its stock then spray the thermosister with electronic spray cleaner out of a spray can..if that doesnt work then its probably bad..if its a z32 maf then start the engine unplug the maf and try reving past 2500 if you can then you wired your maf wrong and shorted your ecu..also check your ecu for codes

Since I am not at work right now and my co-worker try to unplug and plug my MAF see is there any diffance while its running and no luck, he said the motor act the same while he plug and unplug my MAF AND His MAF! He even try to use his S14 SR MAF (which has a diff part number) and still no luck!

I will try to fix any leak I see tomorrow since its alittle too much work to ask a friend to do on his lunch time!

Like everyone else said, it's usually maf related or a boost leak. But I had this weird problem once where a bad plug in my wiring was not allowing enough voltage to get to the ecu/engine harness. It would not rev past 2500. It's a long shot but if you've checked everything else, get out the multimeter and start poking around.

its also possible one or two of your injectors are not opening at all..do a test on those

id check the wiring on the MAF then. If the connector is bad or somethings shorting out then obviously regardless of any MAF you put in there, it will poo.

Yep everyone was right it was my MAF.

1 of my MAF wire was broken for some reason who ever had the enigne in Japan cut it and connect something to it and never connect it back!

Update 15MIn after Everything is running fine. Now it running even more funny!

If I plug in the MAF it will not stay running/Idle unless I put my foot on the gas pedal! But if I unplug the MAF and hold my foot on the gas for about 2-5 sec it will stay idle at 1500RPM and Will not pass 2500 RPM! But with the MAF plug in it will rev pass 2500 to red line and sometime it wont pass 1800rpm also it does not idle!

also with the MAF plug in its running so rich that the exhaust gas make everyone eyes tears but with out it, it seems to running A/F ratio is alot better and the exhaust gas does not make people eyes tear!

Check your injectors yet? Maybe one is stuck open and dumping fuel into a cylinder.

yeah its good!i think if it stuck open, then it will cause it to run rich all the time? I might be wrong!
