so this is my story. i recently swapped in an sr20 was great ran fine. next replaced the fuel pump easy install went fine. went to start it ad it tried and tried but nothin. it wanted to but nothing. s owhat did i do but kept tryingover and over to the point of nothing. now im pissed. so i took the plugs out knowing it was flooded waited over night put them in no nothing no attempt at all so i tested the starter it comes on and goes out but doesnt turn the motor. i took it out and it didnt seem to have much spinning power so i brought it to a shop they told me it was fine. so what do you think i would appreciate any help. thank you.

Yo dude, I wish I can help but I mess with SR's.....did you try the nissan mechanic online or SR engine NICO forums??? they are more specific and maybe you can get some help there. Be very specific and provide more data, will also help...

Did it crank before the swap or did it crank ever? Regardless, if you did not mess with any of the lower harness, it shouldn't of been a problem. Unless someone didn't know what the heck they were doing and just started cutting and splicing.

I'm guessing this is a S13 SR in a S13 chasis... since you didn't provide that info... anyway, there's only like what, 5 wires you have to mess with? So, in this case, there's only so many possibilities if it cranked before swap or ever.

1. hooked up starter wrong2. bad starter3. bad battery4. messed up the wiring or wiring messed up(lower harness ofcourse).

Here's what I would do in your situation.

1. Test starter.2. Test battery3. Test for power at the starter terminals4. Check for power at ignition switch5. Check battery cables6. If no power at all, check for continuity using a wiring diagram of the lower harness ignition switch.

Ok, more info here. So does it click when you turn the ignition? Have you tried jumping it? After so many attempts to get it to run, I'm sure the battery, if not fully charged, would wear down.

If your car was running fine with the SR and after a fuel pump swap, it no longer fires, wouldn't that be a bit obvious... unless it worked fine for a few days, maybe even a few minutes then died and won't fire again after the new pump... but that bit of detail is not included so I'm assuming after the fuel pump swap the car no longer fires.

Check the fuel pump and jump/charge/buy new battery, to see if that helps with the cranking.

sry on limited info, s13 91, the battery is fine that was my first thought so we tried jumping it to no difference. starter took it out 12v constant and then to the signal comes out and spins, no wiring was messed with at all. even so i put in the car and ran 12v to the start signal and it just goes out then stops doesnt spinn the flywheel. the car ran before the fuel pump fine after it would crank originally but now nothing. so i guess the real question is can a starter be worn still do essentially what it does just not to its standards like not full power?

240sxmotoring, but it ran before the fuel pump but now it doesnt. i just got the starter back from a shop they said it was fine, put it in and tried to crank it now it just clicks, but the battery has 12v, im going to try a dif battery but we still tried jumping it before, it just doesnt make sense that it could run fine at the shop but not spin the flywheel when put back in
