Just installed a 5speed SR. Originally the car was an automatic. Used a SR main harness and bottom harness. Do I still need to perform the neutral switch and the reverse lights wiring as stated in the "search" articles??? Thanks

Yes, and make sure your engine is well grounded. If you hear relay clicks, then its possible you have a bad ground or ur starter is shot, tap the starter with a hammer. If you dont hear relay clicks then its possible you need that clutch relay jumpered.

Ok I understand that I need to do the wiring. Ok so if I hear clicks, then I have bad grounds or the starter is bad...but then you say if I dont hear it then I have to have that relay jumpered??? So for ex. if I jumpered the relay, then I would hear clicks correct?

Look at these 2 diagrams.

As you can see the Neutral switch or clutch switch needs to be set or the ignition will not even send the signal to the starter.SO if you do not hear the relays in the fuse box clicking then you dont those things jumpered correctly. If you do hear clicking, but notthing cranks, check your GROUNDS on engine. Then gently tap starter with a hammer, dont hit, tap it, sometimes it gets stuck. Third, you could have a bad starter.

I cant view the diagrams, but I understand what you are saying. whats all is needed just to crank the motor? Oh and is there suppose to be 2 grounds behind the motor? One that comes off the coilpacks harness and a steel braided one? Where do these go to?

sorry, i moved my photbucket albums around, you should be able to see em now. There is nothing on THE TOP harness needed to crank the motor.all u need is your battery hooked up to your lower harness and grounded. Then you need your starter and hooked up to the lower harness, there should be two wires one that goes on the post and one that goes on the little clip. Now you need the cable from your battery plate that is dangling, that need to be hooked up to your engine, that should ground it. There should be an indentation on your manifold for it.
