Ok so my SR project has been well under way and I got to start it yesterday!! Man it started right up no problems. The engine got warm so I turned the key back to shut it off and the car kept running.

I had to pop the hood and put my finder over the MAF sensor to stall out the engine.

So I can do that for now, but, I got to get this fixed.

Any SR wiring masters out there?

Oh and yes I dumped the KAT or the SR. Yeah I know *shocker*.

how long did it run before you decided to stall it out like that? When I did the timing chain job on mine, it would run for about 10 seconds after I turned it off. What causes it is gasses and other crap left in the cylinders and manifold to continue burning even though the ignition key is set to off. The motor just may need to do that a few times to evacuate all of the crap left in it.

Thats kind of what I thought at first too. But after a closer look I notices even with the key out the lights on the dash where still on like the key was in and in the "on" position. I am thinking it is definatly wiring.

I just double checked all of my wiring according to heavythrottle.com and everything looks good.

I found why such thing happens. In the front of the car, by the passenger headlight there are 2 plugs that the main engine harness plugs into. One is grey and one is brown.

On the grey plug, there is a black and white wire that needs to see switched 12V with the key. It looks like your car is not cutting the 12V to that wire when you take the key out.You have 2 choices, you jump the black/white wire on the engine harness end to the black/red or you chase the black/white wire to the relay that powers it and see what the problem is.

If you cut the black/white wire and connect it to black/red it will fix the problem. I have not see any overdraw problems if running the car this way.Good luck and keep us posted.
