I want my check engine light wired up too! All these wiring diagrams and tutorials etc, none show which wire is the check engine light.

I just got mine to work. I have ecu #63. when counting the pins from bottom to top there are 4 groups ;16,14,16, and 18 pins.#24 is the one you want. in each group the numbers are counted up the drivers side, then up the passenger side. this is with the ecu installed on the passenger side with the label facing the drivers side. each groups numbers are as follows from top to bottom; 101-116, 1-14, 15-30, and 31-48. all I did was look in the us manual for my car and found the wire for check engine light. with ignition on and grounding that wire, the light came on. then it was to the ecu. my harness did not have a wire in that position, so i had to install one. it was easy once i figured out that the main harness itself clips open and closed over where the wire ends go into the plastic.wire #23 is your CHK. apply 12v for 2 sec to this while ignition on motor off, you get OBDII (onboarddiagnose), while motor running, you get mixture ratio monitor. when the key is returned to off for 2 sec. the mode goes back to mode 1.

How about posting the wire colors and pins I need. I think you confused me more then anything. I can find the locations of the pins easily, just need pin number and wire colors of the us wire I need and the jdm wire I need.

Great work, gtune4!!! I was always wondering why HT doesn't include the CEL in their dash wiring instruction. This is the exact information I need. I'm gonna get this CEL to work once I'm done putting my stripped Greddy oilpan back on.

qtune4, I looked at my KA ecu and tried to pull one pin out after I opened the plastic clip that holds the pins in. I couldn't get the pin out. Was the pin held by a tab or something? Could you shed a light on this? Thanks, dude

on the ecu plug, you opened the right clip. now you will need a flashlight and a very small pokey thing. looking into the plug on the side the ecu connects to, you will see the female pins, and they have a little plastic tab that is cliped against the side. use the small pokey thing to pry the clip away from the female pin enough that you can move the pin. this should make more sense after you look at the plug. let me know if this helps.

qtune4,

I got my check engine light on during bulb check now. Thanks for all your help. You might want to send email to HT to update their webpage to include this CEL wiring. It's pretty important I think.
