I pulled my motor to put a new head and hks cams on it, and freshen things up with new timing stuff, seals, gaskets, etc. While it's out I decided to paint my engine bay and clean things up. I pulled my harness to redo s***ty connections etc. that are randomly in the harness from previous owners.

Here's where I currently am:

I will be sleeving the whole thing with the braided stuff, if anyone knows where I can get that?

Anyway, I've already gotten rid of a ton of useless s***, but right now have three questions.

Up first is this yellow/red wire. I pulled it all the way through from the passenger fender to pin #3 (Tach. signal output). Is this needed? My tach works fine I have no idea what this does because it goes to this weird plug looking thing and that's it. Here's a pic:

Next I have two blue wires that were chilling down by my ECU. The first one is blue with a black stripe. I followed it all the way to a coolant temp. sensor plug. Should this be pinned in my ECU? What's going on here?

The other blue one has a green stripe, and I followed it to the two plugs at the back on the intake manifold. I don't know how else to describe it so here's a pic:

So, let's get this mess off my table so I can play beerpong! My roommates are all WTFM8!?

Ok I got another damn blue wire. This one has a red stripe and goes to the same plug as the blue one with green stripe.

All of that looks very intimidating.

i think i can help out with the blue/green wire and blue/red but i don't have my harness handy to look at. but there are 2 wires that go to the iacv that tie the ac into it. since i have no ac the wires were removed. if you tell me what pin numbers they go into i can confirm it

I don't know what pins they go to, if they go to any. Blue and Greent and Blue and Red were just chilling in the vicinity of the ECU plug.

There is a cut Blue Green on pin 41 which is for AC on input...probably what you're talking about...for bumping up idle when you turn the AC on? (I also don't have AC). I don't see a blue and red on the ECU plug though.

I'm gonna run my MAF and maybe my 02 wires under the dash and then out on the driverside. MAF I'll bring out by the driver fuse box and the o2 I'll just bring out under the BMC and CMC.

Gonna move my ingitor inside somewhere, open to suggestions.

How long do I need to extend the injector wires to run it under the intake runners, I'm assuming only a few inches. I'll probably do the red ones in the harness where they all converge.

Then the two body connectors I plan on running up under the fender.

...just cleaning things up...nothing crazy haha.

yeah the blue wires are ac related and therefore you don't need em. i'm mounting my ignitor chip under the dash behind the glove box.

and yeah for the injector wiring you only need to extend a little, just eyeball it as your doing it. you want some slack but not too much

You're sure it's both of the blue wires on the IACV?

I'm not too concerned about the yellow and red one for the tach out-put.

I am however concered with blue and black that goes to the coolant temp. sensor...

i'm almost positive on the blue wire, but i'll snap pics tomorrow.

just to get everything clear, the blue and black for the coolant temp goes from the temp sensor to the ecu but isn't connected? is this correct

Well I don't know where it goes... it was chilling down by the ECU I think, so I followed it to the coolant temp sensor plug.

i'll check against mine, but it sounds like it might be the one that goes to the ecu for engine temp. what was on the end of the wire, just cut?

Yep, just cut. The only Blue/Black wire I see on the ECU pinout is for inector #4 (pin 112).

If you could check the 4 wires in question against your harness I'd love you long time. Those are my only question marks, as soon as my sleeving gets here i'd like to get to work.

So I'm bored and thought I'd update on the harness situation, it's been done for a while.

Moved my ignitor inside. Ran seperate strands for different clusters. Routing my MAF wires inside under the dash, out with the hood cable into the fender/frame area up to the front and come out right by the MAF. Body plugs will run in the passenger fender/ frame area and I moved the body side of the plugs into the fender.

Hopefully it comes out the way I picture it when it's in.

Got a couple harnesses lined up to do now haha. Oh well, extra cash and I don't have to take my clothes off!

hahaha yeah.

Nah I like the sleeving mostly. And since I'm doing that I did little things. But you won't find me redoing the entire body harness, fuse boxes, etc.

Edit: Your thread (and all my computer PSUs inspired me to sleeve my harness).
