sr will not start

i have a stock sr20 i just got done finishing my engine because my #2 cylinder blew. everything is back in order it cranks i have spark and fuel. it sound like it wants to start but just will not turn over and i know my timing is dead on i followed a guide. any ideas anybody??

Did you check for ignition at every cylinder and how did you check for fuel?

Cylinder 4 wasnt firing on mine at startup.

i just redid my timing for the 3rd time and now it fires up every time .... just have a kind of loud ticking sound now???

The light puffing would be the injectors. A loud clicking was what I heard when my timing chain was going bad Pray it's not that.

The ticking is probably caused by the hydraulic lifters.- the lifter(s) may have air in them- the oil pressure may be very low

if its the lifters could it be that i have a huge oil leak coming out of my timing chain tensioner gasket and thats just starving them ..my new gasket comes tuesday so i guess i will find out then
