Has anyone ever tried taking a US SR water pump, (I.E. B13 sentra/ 200sx) and putting spacers on the block side of the pulley to try and make it line up with the with everything else? Or are you really just screwed and have to shell out for a japanese pump?

It bolts on fine, but the pulley ends up too far back, and the bolt pattern in the pulley itself is wrong. I tried it and found out the hard way. I was unable to find a shop capable of maching what I was looking for at a decent price. The FWD waterpump + the cost of the spacer to be custom made brought the cost up over what the RWD water pump would cost.
