hey guys, so i just got a new bov (sqv) and hot pipe.my old pipe had a vacuum fitting on it going to the wastegate. and i am wondering if i can tee the vacuum from the bov with the wastegate, or can i run vacuum from the intake manifold to the wastegate, or do i have to have a vacuum fitting on my hot pipe goint to the wastegate? right now i have it from the manifold to the wastegate and it seems like its not really going through the bov..... i dunno any help is appriciated. thanks guys.

You should be able to tee off from anywhere you're getting vacuum. Wastegate's and bov's aren't choosy as to where it comes from really. Make sure it is a definite vacuum though, I'd go from the intake manifold and tee off to them both.Someone might chime in later with some more detailed info, as I am now going to bed, just popping in to try and help.

The wastegate really only needs boost. However the Bov definitely needs Vacuum as well as boost. I would run the bov vacuum line directly from the intake manifold if possible. Some people tee off the FPR but id rather have seperate sources for all of my things. You may even consider getting a vacuum block that runs off of the brake booster from intake mani line.

Good luck!

you can adjust the IACV valve by tightening/looseing the screw. also if you have the time to take it off give it a thourough cleaning. When i did mines it had all sorts of crap in it.

It probably is the IACV im not a fan of those devices. I suppose it could be the o2 sensor as well?

The IACV only acts as a way to warm up your engine quicker, which explains the faster idle during a cold start(normal). It also raises rpms when you are turning your wheels (w/power steering) and when your A/C kicks on (if you have it). The wastegate gets its vacuum source from the cold pipe according to the 180sx FSM, the fpr and the bov get vaccum from the fittings coming out of the throttle body. Download the fsm and your questions should be answered...
