that turbo imo is overkill on the sr motor, it is huge and prob does't spool till dinner time and like the one in turbo with the t 67 that made 4 something at low boost why not run more boost on a more efficient smaller turbo with less lag... just doesn't make sense to me i mean that kids car is sweet but what's it have 330 hp? again just my opinion

an opinion, but not the best one i have ever seen...

The T67 is a great choice for drag applications for the sr....and i am leaning towards that on my street 240.

i dont know what your point is about that low boost comment...why would you run a T67 at low boost anyway? why not build the motor, and run high boost? im sure thats done by the majority of people who would upgrade to a T67....built motor and cams, that thing will spool nicely : ), and make terrific power. He should be going with a full standalone, and some 850's atleast, but that turbo can make 550whp without too much trouble...

yea, everyone says that...because they are internet whores...there was many sr's before people went online to talk about it.....some people under the idea that everyone talks about there **** online....there are 800hp sr's in the US that people dont know about cause they dont talk on the boards....

saying the first of anything is bs to me, because there is no way to keep dibs on the 3 milliion people in the US, and what motors they have...a lot of stuff slips under the radar screen..

just my 2 cents.

Drag and Autocross two different setup I guess!! To me T67 will be a good size on SR for Drag maybe not the best for Autocross...

duh, lol ;)

of course turbo selection does depend on what the car is going to be used for....

i just thought the over kill comment was not right

Do you have absolute proof that you were the first? How about a list of every SR in New Jersey and have the owners sign and date when they got their SR's up and running. That should be enough for me.

I'm going to document down to the minute when my stock RB26 swap finishes. : ) That way, I can claim to be the first, and its documented. =P

the t67 would be a good turbo with the proper set up, but the couple that i have seen are not making that much power with such a turbo i know this is only one example, but how about that orange s14 in turbo magazine? made what 425 to the wheels with a built motor head everything, and it spools at like 4500 even for drag your launches will suck you will get initial wheelspin then bog when the turbo is spooling then finally spin again or go..ask the supra guys. i know a guy that made 409 with a mild t3/t4 on a fwd sr20, no motorwork..just seems like a waste of money to me, i'm not trying to start a holy war or anyhting just stating my opinoin unless you are running 30psi on that turbo (where i assume it's at it's peak efficiancy, just a guess) there is no need for a turbo that big when you can get a smaller one have better boost response and run the same 1/4 mile times...

that same orange s14 will put out over 500whp at higher boost with tuning.........just because thats what he put down for the magazine does not mean that was his max hp....

well considering Dynoing with a wideband 02 sensor is most likely the best tuning device available...i dont see how dyno's are a bad thing....

My friends running a T67. He's got 272 in/ex cams, 740cc injectors, all ran by a motec. He just put the T67 on. He had a TD06 before that making 480ps at the wheels. Pretty nice setup. Destin

hey guys, ralph really was the first one running the sr20det with the stock ecu going. sds had one first, but it wasn't with the stock ecu.

he had to piece the motor together and get a special order from soko in order for it to happen. i remember going to the track when i just graduated from 8th grade (i'm not a sophomore in college) and i saw his 240sx driving around witha blown up turbo because that was all he could get at the time. ralphs a great guy give him credit

Is there any contact info for who's 240 that is? Because his car is pretty sweet, and I'm thinking about the same style of set up, except with a small turbo for better street performance. I'd love to ask him some questions.

the T67 is smaller than Ralph's old turbo, and I don't think it's too big at all, the exhaust housing on that thing is TINY and I see no reason why it wouldn't work fine on a daily drifter.

Big turbo's are the spice of life, it's like sex, unless you've experienced it you can't knock it.
