I've been searching for some answers about this little problem I'm having.

I'm wiring up my S13 SR transmission, and some people have told me to just use the KA lower harness. The battery terminal plugs are the right size for my battery if I do that, but none of the plugs line up on the transmission.

If I use the SR lower harness on the other hand, I have leftover chassis plugs by the battery (S13 240sx), and the battery terminal connectors are too small..

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you use the KA lower harness, the plugs on the trans should line up. The SR just uses a different plug than the KA.

Or swap the old KA trans switches over to the SR trans. The JDM and USDM switches are identical except for the plugs

Also, can I get you to reduce the size of your sig. It's a bit out of spec with our sig size rules.

or... you can just not USE the plugs on the transmission and not have have a 110mph speed cut... but thats just me.

the plug closest to the motor on the bellhousing is the reverse lights.

the plug closest to the tail of the transmission is the 4th&5th gear sensor.. this affects the speed cut.

then obviously you have the speed sensor at the bottom of the transmission, under the shifter that has a pigtail that runs up to the starter area.

use the KA lower harness. to use the SR lower, you will not only change out your battery terminal, but also the multi-pinned plug at the fuse box. typical 240's use a 6 pin plug whereas the SR uses a 4 pin plug. this is due to the fact that the KA has an additional neutral sensor on the transmission.

so, use the KA lower harness, make the reverse light plug work, dont sweat the 4th/5th gear plug and dont forget to use the SR starter trigger wire plug. the KA one will slip right on, but will vibrate loose in time leaving you to wonder why the hell your car just decided to not start.
