SR vs KA alternators in an S13

I'm getting my SR alternator rebuilt at a place that rebuilds electrical stuff. The guy wants to know if the all of the internal stuff from the KA alternator can be used to build the SR alternator. He specifically needs to know about the regulator and if they are interchangeable, he says he has everything else. I told him I thought they were, but i'd call him back.

Can anyone verify this for me? do the SR and KA alternators have the same internal regulator?
