can you run a sr16ve head on a sr20det with details pistons or do you need vet pistons

It would be better to get VE pistons but you could run the 2.0 cams without any problems. the 1.6 cams are kinda iffy. Some have ran them without problems others had piston to valve contact when the VVL engaged. If your running a small turbo stick with the 2.0 cams.

I have a presicion 62/62 Turbo I'm running I was going to use the sr1.6ve head

The SR16ve and SR20VE heads are the same cept for the cams. SR16VE N1 is different head because of cams, valves and springs. You might want to clay the head with the SR16VE cams to make sure your not going have piston to valve contact.

If they do contact is it worth it to have my det pistons drilled with valve reliefs or should i get vet pistons

If you can get them cut for the vvl head keep it. The head is going to raise the compression a little too. If ur at 9.1 then it might be close to 10.1 after the head swap.
