I have a 2024 Nissan Altima SR-VC turbo with 400 miles on it now. With it being a turbo, I was curious about the crankcase pressure so I pulled the oil fill cap and noticed a bit of pressure coming OUT of the oil fill cap. Wouldn't this be detrimental over time to the engine? I was going to put a catch can on the engine but it being both DI and Port injected I wasn't sure the efficacy of having one.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. :dblthumb:

It's pretty normal for some pulsed pressure to come out of the oil cap on just about all Nissan 4-bangers. You can make a giant mess forgetting to reinstall the cap on any Altima.

The combination of port and direct injection does obviate most carbon issues with the valves on the KR20, but it doesn't particularly help the Throttle Body in that regard. So while I wouldn't call a catch-can a necessity, it won't hurt and may save you scrubbing a sticky TB sometime down the road.
