400 dollars is waaaaaay to overpriced. go with with UR. and yes its safe..as far as gains..ive read from a guy that installed one that in 3rd and 4th gear he noticed better throttle response.

Yeah ATI claims it has the only harmonic damper ..I will go with the UR.

True but I personally am not worried about the harmonic damper. I havent heard any horror stories of not using one on an SR yet. If I really wanted an aftermarket underdrive pulley but was really really concerned and worried about not running the damper i would spend the extra money just to reassure myself

Buy one based off what your going to be doing with the motor. If your spending alot of time at high rpm, then youll be safer with the ATI Pulley. Street car seeing the occassional 7500rpm would be fine with a lightened pulley. Also you wont notice any performance gains besides quicker throttle response similar to a lightened flywheel.

thats true, but i saw on them dyno a g35 with a underdrive crank pulley and it saw 6whp across the band and 8whp peak. does a flywheel also net these gains on a dyno since its freeing power to the wheels? if it supposedly offers the same performance as a crank pulley

yes it is the same principle. i would think that a really light flywheel would free up even more power, since the rotational mass is further away from the center on a normal flywheel. those things are pretty damn heavy!
