Well, I have an s13 with an SR20 and I want to upgrade from my S14 turbo. I'd like to get the GT25r or a t3/t4 50 trim. Here is the problem: I want only an external wastegate, no internals, but I have a JIC tubular equal length manifold with a t25 flange.

Here are my potential set ups:

T3/T4 50 trim: cut off t25 flange from manifold and weld on t3 flange and a wastegate tube.

GT25r: keep t25 flange and have shop weld on a wastegate tube, and weld wastegate door shut on turbo; take out the flapper door and have a custom o2 housing with the wastegate directly after the wastegate passage in the turbo. Get what i'm saying?

Anyways, I think I would like to go with the T3/T4 route. If you have any suggestions or concerns, please post here. What set up do you think would be better?

there should be a GT25R without a wastegate IIRC. You may need to contact garrett directly on that one though.

None of them come with wastegates I think. You either have to add an actuator to make it internal, or weld the flapper shut and use an external...

when i say without wastegate, i mean it doesn't even have the flap. I know you can get the GT28RS in external wastegate trim, and I'm fairly certain that the GT25R has the same option, but I would have to confirm it with Garrett before I commited to saying if it did or didn't
