is the sr20det transmission sapposed to be hard to shift? i mean compared to the handfull of sticks i have driven, including the stock ka, this sr doesnt seem to like shifting. like i feel as if i have to apply alot of force to get it in and out of gear. it doesnt grind... but its alot harder or stronger of a shift than any other transmission i have driven. on the other hand if i shift high in the rpms it seems much happier. is this normal????? anybody else notice this?

probly wouldnt hurt. its only a $30 part. especially if its rather old. for 30 bucks it worth a shot than having to pull transmission and finding nothing wrong.

Well, i just got my sr too, and it does feel hard to shift, but sometimes is smoother like higher rpms. I didt pay much attention to it, and now i cant shift at all lmao. everytime clutch i hear grinning sound and i cant put gear in.... i havt got time to look at it yet. but i suggest u look into it too before somthing bad happens like what happened to my sr.

my slave cylinder blew out a few months ago, lickily i had my tool boxes with me so after getting the part i did the swap at a target parkinglot. feels alot less muddy with the new slave. i didnt flush it. when i did the swap i just made sure it was empty then put royal purple in it. the motor is going on an engine stand soon anyway so i will have a chance to look at the clutch then. hope it all works out. kinda depressing that i saved up for so long then only got to drive the car for 2 months before parts started going out. my greddy bov leaks constantly, even when tightend all the way, oil pump is out, turbo blew out, gunk in the turbo lines, blown turbo gaskets that i hope were the cause of major powerloss when everything warmed up. idk this thing has gone from a dream to a nightmare.
