SR transmission swap into a KA24DE?

Hey all

Not sure if this is the right section to post but hope I can get some advise from you since I am too new to the silvia world. And sorry if this topic has been covered I might just miss it... but hope you wouldn't mind to answer one more or refer me to another thread for more detail.

I recently bought a s13 (93, KE24DE) and the transmission just stop working yesterday

I am looking for a replacement but locally I couldn't find any KA24DE transmission around.So I am thinking to do SR transmission swap into my KA24DE

After a few research, I found this:zer...age=1

So, I believe SR transmission swap into a KA24DE engine is possible too with the same bell housing swap method?Is the swap just like the KA transmission swap into a SR engine or will it take more work?

Moreover, if I actually can get the SR transmission bolt on to my KA engine, do I need a SR20DET clutch and flywheel? or a KA24DE clutch and flywheel?...

I believe the SR and KA transmissions are the same except for the bellhousing, just swap them and it should go right in.

Razi's right. I saw them next to each other this weekend, and from the bellhousing back it's the exact same. IIRC the ka's 5th gear is a little taller, not really going to matter but taller gear = lower rpm's on the highway.

how would you pull off the bellhousing off the sr? isn't the tranni just in a giant shell? or does the front part of the tranni come off?

sorry disregard my last comment lol. i actually clicked on the site provided. so m guessing the flywheel n clutch off the ka would be fine for this swap?
