I need to ask a favor of anyone with a redtop or flattop blacktop who hasn't touched the factory set tps position screw (that should be everyone because you aren't supposed to, but I did). I need to know the factory setting on the TPS sensor. All I need to know is how many ohms of resistance are in the tps at fully closed throttle(between the top and middle terminal with the plug off). the factory manual states that the range is 0.7-5 ohms, aproximately 0.7 closed and approximately 5 full open. the problem is approximately doesn't cut it on this setting. Sorry for the long post. Please Help!!!:help :help :help

ps. the voltohmeter you use should be zeroed well and have a good battery this would be a life saver

pps. the original thread would read ... I touched the screw, strippped it out and somehow set it the right way with a slightly bigger screw to acommodate the threads. then when at the 1/8th strip I touched it while tuning, AGAIN, and stripped it, AGAIN. Now the computer has gone crazy and will not work right without the proper setting.

That will tell you if it's bad, you have to set it, to do that you should plug into the number 2 and 3 pin and check voltage. You should set it from .45-.55 volts.

Note: With the locking tab of the connector pointing up and looking at the back of the female connector as the wires go into it, terminal #1 is the one on the LEFT. #2 is in the MIDDLE and #3 is on the RIGHT.

Output voltage is measured across terminals #2 and #3 from the harness side of the connector.

A note less voltage will make the car run a little lean, more voltage will up the fuel just a little. My advise is get it set at .45 or even .40 for the sight power bonus.

hope that helps,

Paul
