I'm aware these two turbos have been discussed deeply but as the easiest 2 options for a turbo upgrade for our beloved motor, I would like to get a good comparison of the two.

There are a few numbers I am interested inFull spool rpmPower output capacityPSI required to reach certain power

My general understanding is that the SR T25 will boost earlier (~3300) and capable of around 230 whp, where as the T28 will boost around 4000 but is capable of near 300whp.

Looking through the dyno charts, it looks like the T28 needs to be around 18psi for that number and the T25 similar, maybe 15-18.

All of this is speculation and I would like to know what everybody (especially those with SR T25 or T28) has to say on the subject.

If I'm correct it seems like it comes down tooption a) Quick boost, responsive setup with ~230whpoption b) Later boost but more powerful.

Lastly, would both turbo's have near the same responsiveness, just with the T28 I'd need to hang around in the higher rpm's?

Thanks

I too am interested in what owners of the two have to say. I know that float was planning on doing a comparo with the CA T25, SR T25, and T28. I would think through watching over and researching that the SR T25 would make full boost at right about 3k and the T28 right about 3500k.

The garrett gt2860r (s15 t28) pushes about 31lb/min. I would think the sr t25 would do no more than 25.

What do you mean by "full boost"? I can make 20lbs by 3400rpm with the gt28.

The power outputs are more like 240/280, respectively.

The t25 is trash. Do yourself a favor and throw a Mitsu td05-18g on there.

It's not even a question. If you have the option get the S15 or later. On my CA it came on as quick as the stock one and just kept coming.

I mean maxed capability of the turbo at the earliest RPM that it can max it's boost at.

I got two I would not be opposed to selling. I won't break up the set though.

Does anyone have a gt28rs, the so called "disco potato" strapped on their CA? Are there any major mounting problems on a stock bottom mount setup?

I'm hoping to do a comparision between the 3 turbo's soon, but I've got too many projects on my plate right now.

I still plan to do it in the next 3 or 4 months.

^ Yep.

TMS you have a manifold to go with those? Like, both on my engine at the same time?

like that?I gave that idea up, it's too much work just to be freaky and offers no benefits over a big single. One of these turbos would be awesome on a CA18. 350hp worth of flow with a responsive 8cm housing.

I was thinking one behind the other, but sure, why not. Want to sell me one a few months into summer? Say, 3 months from now? I'm signing up for a TIG class and making my own manifold would basically pwn life.

I won't break up the set so either somebody who needs both or is willing to buy both and then sell one of the two or keep it as a back up will need to step up to the plate.

You can't find a post office open? How about a convenience store? 7 eleven and Circle K used to issue money orders. I would accept those as well.

yes. If you get confused young lady just remember it goes in the big blue box

I'm old I guess, I have a deep-seated distrust of the internet, computers, paperless transactions etc. Connectivity is progressing at 100mph, security at about 10.

Go for T25G it's has better response than T25. Can gain ~250whp
