Currently I've got these specs

CA18det, new hg w/ 150psi compression across3" turboback exhaust6" johnnyracecar IC core w/ ssac pipeswalbro fuel pump

everything else is pretty stock. Come spring however I'm going to upgrade the injectors, and run megasquirt. I'm deciding on which turbo and I definitely want a t25 for the spool, and my goal would be 240-250 rwhp. What are the main differences between the sr t25 and gt2530(or other gt25's) ? I don't see many gt25's on ebay plus they are ~700-~800 new, are there any in betweens? Will either of these turbos meet my goal?

ThanksJon

according to http://www.turbobygarrett.com the gt2554r should be able to make about 270hp. http://www.turbobygarrett.com/...3.htm this is the turbo that i am currently running that i got for 699.00 new price. this is the site i ordered it from. http://www.importperformancepa....html good service. I do know that running more than 15psi on a t25 will only make hot air and not more power and really shorten the lifespan of the turbo. The on that i mention has a compressor housing a/r of .80 so it should breath slightly better up top which it does but at the moment i am looking for a slight boost leak. you can get your power goals without even going standalone. i know this site http://www.h-dev.co.uk/index.p...72075 do quite a few "chips" for the ca motor. There tunes are very good from the reviews i have read on http://www.sxoc.co.uk. hope this helps you out some.

is the .80 laggy at all? I was thinking more .64 ish. I'd like to get the best spool times and useable power band for my goal.

That .80 is the compressor side, not the turbine side. The OEM SR turbo has a .80 compressor, anything smaller on a T3 spec compressor would suck (think OEM CA turbo). That turbo he shows is basically a ball bearing version of the OEM turbo....probably the same as the HKSGT2510....not laggy at all but I wouldnt boost it higher than about 12-15 lbs boost.

The HKS turbos are much bigger than t25s. They all use t28 wheels and whatnot with ball bearing center sections. The gt2510 is rated at 300hp from HKS, and I dont think those oem t25 turbos will do near that.

i have a SR t25. It reaches full spool at abot 3k, but i have a XS manifold and stock cat and catback. So it should be a little lower. Kinda don't like it, because it seems to fall on its face when I reach higher rms(6500+). And Im only running about 7lbs of boost.
