Every post i read (on this forum and others), ppl are saying that a t25 off an SR would be way to small for a KA. Considering my goals are extremely modest (200-220 whp), I would think the t25 to be a great choice.

1. I can pick up a t25 and 370cc injectors very cheaply. Everyone upgrading their SR's would let them go for a good price.2. Instant boost.

Granted - I would be very limited in trying to squeeze out extra HP, but again my goals are modest. While saving for a house, justifying 3 large on turbo setup is difficult to do.

If most SR guys are getting around 230whp with the t25, I'd assume a KA24de with t25 would be close to that.

Fuel and timing will be handled by Greddy Emanage. I could use the stock MAFS or upgrade to a z32 MAFS.

370cc/min injectors could handle 250hp (crank) assuming BFSC of .55 at 100% duty.

So.......

How much hp (wheel or crank) could a t25 (off an SR) on a ka24de support?Do they come with a wastegate, or is an external wastegate required?

If I'm loco for wanting to use a t25, what would be a better (read cheap) choice for instant boost.

tks

The t25 is way small for the KA hehe I would say the max would be on a 2L engine. The z32 300zxTT uses a t25 for each of its 2 1.5L sides to put it another way.

Another cheap alternative would be a coolant and oil cooled t3 out of a z31 300zx turbo. I dont know the best year off of the top of my head but Ill try to look for it.

Ill be running that or a t3/t40e, and I also want to be rather cheap. But it sounds like your going about it the right way, cheap but reliable (fuel is one of the biggest things alot of people skimp on for low bost.)

Dont forget the fuel pump either :)

It will work for what you need but not much more. You'll have real good boost response.

Why not get a T3 insted? at least then you'd have more exhaust flow which means less chance of detonation.....

You can get a junkyard T3 for pretty cheep as well, that's the route I'd look into taking if it were my money.

Yeah - did a bunch searches yesterday. Found that although a t25 would be instant boost :) , I would be operating outiside the maximum effeciency range of the turbo. :(

A z31 t3 can easily be found, as well as mustang svo and thunderbird t3's. Actually came across a few websites listing oem turbos easily found at a junker.

tks for the replies

Does anyone even make a manifold for the t25?

T3 from a 300Z is the way to go. Cheap and easy to locate.

The best T3 from a Z31 in my opinion would be the '86 yr model. But you can find a T3 from anywhere that does any type of Z work as well as scrap yards.
