sr swap question!please help!

hey guys i am currently doing an sr swap in my sohc s13. i have searched and cant get a clear answer. the dash plug is different in the sohc than the dohc. am i going to have to splice the male and female sides of the plug to dohc? and also am i going to have to use a dohc cluster??lemmie know sr guru's!!

As far as I know...

As long as you aren't HUD.You don't need to do anything with the dash harness.You just need a DOHC cluster which should plug right into existing wiring (no splicing or anything required).And you need to use the KA 5-speed Speed Sensor and put that in the SR transmission for your speedo to remain correct.

^ Make sure that the KA 5-Spd sensor is from a 91-94 DOHC.

im using a speed sensor from my sohc 1990 it works. my tach doens't work though cause it's still the sohc

so would i just need the tach sensor from a dohc then and still use the sohc dash plug?

I am fairly certain that SOHC speed sensors also work. As long as it came from a manual.

And Driftiteasy- You don't need a "tach sensor". As long as you have the DOHC cluster it will work just fine. Justin was referring to his tach not working because he is still using a SOHC cluster.

I never messed with speed sensor...always used the one from the sr. Check out frsport.com about what to do with the dash plug.
