Here's the deal. I was thinking of selling my altima, and using the money to buy a SR20DET swap for my S13. Now, I can put the motor, trans, and bolt in the ECU, but The wiring is going to have to get done by someone else. how much do you guys expect the charge would be to have someone put the wiring in and tune the motor

wiring is actually pretty easy. All you have to do is extend 40 wires 3 feet and you are good to go.

Extend 40 wires 3 feet? You must have done a very professional job on your wiring then because I only lengthened my o2 sensor and maf wiring. Total of 6 wires.

what about the wiring to the ECU? or do you just have to wire in the wires from the motor to the firewall? Unless you can just use the KA wiring, and extend those that are needed, and swap the ECU's. But i always thought that you needed to use the SR20DET wiring harness to make everything work

02 sensor, MAF, AC, Power steering, ignitor wires all need to be extended and that makes about 40 wires. I haven't actually done it yet, but I am going to start tonight, so if you know something I don't then tell me cuz I would like to know.

no, you don't just lengthen wires. there are 4 plugs that plug up, but unless you rearrange the wires in them, won't run right. s13 to s13 wiring harness service is $150shaun

Uhhhhh..... no?

Why would the plugs not work right on the upper engine harness? They are plugging into the exact same plugs that they used to be plugged into, so everything will still work just like it is supposed to. All you have to do is swap around some of the wire locations in the plugs by the battery and then everything will work just right. HT has the correct pin locations if you need them and Radio Shack has pin removal tools.

other than that, yes, you just lenthen the wires :peace:

The wiring is easy. Basically the sr dash plug will be cut and be replaced by your ka dash plug and just match up the colors.Be sure to measure b4 cutting because you may connect the wires together and may end up being too short to have the dash plug plug up to the harness that goes to the gauge cluster and accessories.

If you're going to route the engine harness through the driver side into the engine bay like how a 180sx/silvia(passenger side for them) has theirs then you're going to have to relocate your ecu to the driverside or unless you're going to extend all the wires from the ecu plug to the ecu to the passenger side in your 240sx. Am I unclear? Oh well I'm sure some of you can figure out what I was saying.

i agree completely. but the guy up that posted earlier said just extend some wires. thats not true. the last think i want is people to do thier swaps thinking that since the plugs near the battery plug up, it should work. because it won't. also, why don't you put a sr20det in your altima? shaunsentra/240sx/g20/200sx/altima sr20det performance

Are you kidding me?

02 sensor - 3 wiresMaf - 3 wiresP/S - 2 wires

For a grand total of 8 wires... Why extend the ignitor chip wiring? Just leave it next to the passenger side shock tower.

How many of you guys are still able to use your data port in driver's side kick panel?

unforgivn you bring up a good point. After I did the wiring and actually looked at what I had done, I see that there are things that could have been left the same length. However, it all works and I have put about 6k miles on the car, so I am happy :)

Ahhh

See I have a techtom MDM-100N and I would like to continue using it and the data port for other loggers.

The only car I have seen that has a working Dataport was my friend Frank's and I think they extended everything.
