Hi, I'm new to the forum and I'm going to swap an S13 SR into my 89 hatch. I have made a list I want you too look over. Its separated into mods that will be done during the swap process and parts I will be replacing and then parts I will change after the swap. I'm going with the S14 turbo since I'm getting one from a friend for close to nothing. I'm shooting for high 12's. Can you tell me what you think? Is there anything I'm missing in either category, I will need or should have and also is there anything else I should replace while I'm swapping the motor. Are those also the right spark plugs to use for my setup? Thanks

One thing I noticed you don't have listed is a light flywheel. Recipricating weight is hard to overcome. Stock is like 20lbs and a fidanza 9.5lb is only like $350 or so. It is also something that is a pain after everything is done. That is my opinion. I just finished my swap a couple of days ago. Good luck with it all. I have some websites that I have bookmarked that guided me along. Let me know. Jimmy

Thanks. Yea, I was always back and forth on the flywheel. Anyone else?Do I need to add anything else or is there something else I should replace while swapping the motor except the water pump? Are those also a good spark plug match for my setup or should I go up a hear range.

Lightend flywheel has its ups and downs Lighter allows faster rev spool but boost will fall of faster when off the throttle cause it more time to get back into boost.

Also the Electronic Boost controller need to be off the list and go with a manual trust me.

High Flow Cat needs to be a test pipe.

Get megan pullys not the greddy pullys they are the same thing just megans are 100 bucks cheaper.

Stainless Clust line isnt needed. You will need a good slave cylinder and fork pivot ball. I recommend nismo.

Also the greddy front mount is way over price. Ebay kits do actually work well and are $400-800 cheaper. I think you can get a bolt up S13 kit fo 250 buck plus shipping on ebay. That comes with T Bolt clamps and 4 ply couplers.

Is there a manual boost controller you recommend?

I hear that on some megan racing parts the quality is not the best, do you know that there pulleys are quality?

Yes Im using thier pullies. The quality is good but the anodized paint comes off a bit but they can be repainted.

I'm going with the heavy throttle swap package and it comes with one. So I got that covered. I'm just not sure about what heat range to use on plugs. I'm worried 7 mite be to high. And also I'm not sure what else to replace. Should water pump cover it?

The heavy throttle kits are over priced but I guess if you dont want to track down stuff its the best choice.

Dude if you want a ebc you cans till get 1 just stay away from the profec II. Get a Apex-i Avc-r, or the old school profec I. I do recommend the ss lines for the turbo. If you ever have to take off the manifold and turbo it makes a world of difference. But instead of getting taka lines for 200 bucks you can easily make your own for maybe 75 bucks with fittings. http://www.anplumbing.com/shop/ Here you can get the an fittings and ss lines. Call phase 2 or some other sr company to get the correct fitting sizes and what not.

I have these lines on my s14 turbo and i can take off my manifold and turbo in under 15 minutes.

why does every hate the greddy profec b II. I think they are awesome. I agree at first it was a ***** to get it at the right setting, but once it's working, they work great

idk, I'll get that or the AVR-C.Any one else, what plugs should I get, HR 6 or 7? What will be the best for my setup with the s14 turbo and 480 injectors? I hear that for every 100hp you add you go up a HR. That's why I'm not sure about the 7's but what you think?
