I just finished up my SR swap, Its a S13 SR in a S14 SE. The issues im having - Temp gauge reads normal, then jumps up wayyy past Hot very fast, not gradually. Fuel gauge doesnt work (was working before the swap).

It has the stock KA radiator, fan, no shroud, and new thermostat. While driving when the temp gauge got way past Hot, the left side of the clusters lights went out, So I was thinkin maybe a short?

The car sat at normal temp while idling for about 10 minutes. I went and bought a Water temp gauge from Auto Zone, tapped it into my upper rad hose, and it never ran more than 100 degrees. So Im thinkin thats trash also. Any recomendations on how to pin point the problem??

PS: Heavy throttle did the wiring

did you use the o.e gauge cluster or the jdm one? I used the jdm cluster and the temp gauge was not working..... so I switched it and fixed the problem...
