I recently got a s13 redtop from a navy friend. The car ran fine when parked its sat for 5 months and now it does not have any spark on any of the plugs . The ecu is showing code 21 but i dont think that it sitting for 5 months would cause the ignitor to fail would it. appreciate any help.

Check underhood electrical connectors for corrosion. (Not uncommon with Nissan connectors)

already done like i said i own an s130 so im used to old harnesses I replaced the injectors on my 280 and the wires were so old they broke when I replaced the injectors what i am asking if is what systems should i check what test should i use to test the ignitor the coil packs everybody is taking this knowledge for granite or something cause i cant find any info on the procedures to test the coil packs or ignitors or anything the coil harness ground is in position its not the cas what am i overlooking here.

Ok ive tested the ignitor it was fine ive tested the ground to the back of the head the ecu is modded so the red light going crazy when I prompted lol. So I decided to test the cas and coils. Ok on the cas side there sending the signal to the ecu voltage varied from .24 to 5.12 so I know its sending signal is that withing the specified range. Also on the coils my ohms read .7 to .8 on all my coils is this an acceptable ohmage. Im thinking if the E terminal on the coils is grounding in the ecu like its supposed I can do a hot test and see if the light pulses sound about right to you all. What are the ground locations for the ignition system I didnt do the swap so idk about all of them. The plugs were a little fouled but even then fouled plugs would still give off a weak spark right. Im loosing my mind on this thing thinking I should of stuck to 80s vacuum diagrams instead of 90s wiring diagrams lol.

Ok I think i might have shot my self in the foot alright I was looking at the fuses on the interior just in case I was being retarded and guess what Im pretty good doing being stupid. The electronics(ig) fuse was missing am I to take it that fuse (ig) is to the ignition and would cause the vehicle not to spark cause idk because I took out the cas to test it and seriously tossed up my ignition and fuel timing and dont want to pull the valve cover off this instant. So tell me guys did I screw the pooch on this one guys.

tried didnt get any responses while i was resetting the cas I noticed a wire further on the back right side of the head not the coil ground one but further right anybody know what that goes to its not wire but a kinda mesh lace going to a 1 pin plug

Ok after some searching and sniffing ive still got no spark. CAS is functioning properly so is the ignitor two . So i started studying the coil system now apparantly I didnt read right so heres my point of view with the knowledge Ive gathered. Alright theres 3 wires at the coils 1 wich is the negative for the ecu and is used to disrupt the continuity of the circuit and causes the current from 2 the constant hot causing it to jump to the second wrap around coil wich is grounded to the 3rd pin E . So im looking at the current passing through 2 and testing the grounds 1 and 3 and im getting some pretty confusing readings. K the constant is 12v when grounded to 3 but when grounded to 1 it varies on the first plug Im only getting 3.5 volt from pin 1 but on the rest of the coils though Im gettin only .5 a volt could this be from a bad connection a bad ground a bad ecu or have I just completely misrunderstood Hijackers explanation of how the coils work. so what I think Im going to do is start testing continuity between the ecu and coils Im also going to test the ecu ground you should be able to ground to the bolt that holds the ecu plug in correct that would eliminate everything and point souly at the ecu as bad or one of the chassis grounds for the ecu not being hooked up. If by shear luck some one in the north west arkasnsas has a redtop ecu they wouldnt mind letting me plugin to mine Id be willing to supply the gas or beer for the trip. please help me reclaim the soul this car has sucked out of me lol.
