I swaped my sr and the speed sensor would not work, so i put in the ka, i am using the sr transmission harness because my ka did not come with one. i also have the digital gauge cluster and hud. both still work because they come on for like 2 seconds when i first start the car, bust shut off quickly. any ideas on how i can get the speed sensor to work would be great.Mike

I think your supposed to switch the Ka speed sensor into the SR transmission. I think it might be something with the wiring, but then again I'm not familiar with the digital gauge at all. Sorry.

is the cluster oem from ur car? did it come with, if it did, then yes, you should have the ka sensor in the sr transmission, but if its a 91+ cluster, then u should keep the sr speed sensor

Well i think the cluster was origanal in his car, but i dont think the car was running when he got it.. Hence he said his car didn't come with the transmission harness. I think the problem lies with trying to hook the sr transmission harness to the ka digital cluster. Id suggest trying to maybe get a ka transmission harness out of a junk yard or something, but i am not farmiliar with the digital cluster at all. Good luck man, Chris And ps, you will have to use the ka speed sensor in the sr transmission. 1st reason being if you want the speedo to work in mph, the ka one is mph, and the sr one is kmh, and second reason being if you put the kmh one in, the sr ecu has speed cut at 118 mph. Well if your speed sensor sends a signal in km/h to a mp/h speedometor, you will have speed cut at 71 mph.

what is the difference in the harnesses? the speed sensor plugs directly in. i dont have a speed cut, i have the mines tuned ecu. so thats not a prob. Mike

the speed sensor plugs are exactly the same on both KA and SR harnesses. There are 2 ways you can do this: One) Keep all the SR sensors on the SR transmission, and use the SR transmission harness and gage cluster -OR- two) Swap the speed sensor, the reverse sensor, and the neutral sensor to the SR transmission from the KA (DOHC) one. Use the KA transmission harness and the KA gage cluster.

so it sounds like you either need to go shoping for a SR gage cluster or a KA transmission harness and associated sensors.

At least thats how to do it without getting wiring involved.

I thought the digital dash and HUD had their own 'computer' so to speak. Get an FSM and figure out where their signal comes from and go from there. The wiring directions you used are more than likely for an analog dash, but it should be easily adapted to the digital one with a little research.
