Here is the quick breakdown of my situation. I have a 92 240sx and i blew my ka. There was a local guy with a sr swapped 240 and he got rear ended by a cargo van and the gas tank exploded, the entire interior is GONE! The guy is lucky to be alive...anyway the fire didnt make it through the firewall.

but like i said, the interior is gone, so with that being said, i was wondering what i would need to do for the wiring. All the wiring in the engine bay is intact. How hard is it gonna be to wire this up? would it be easier to buy a new oem harness and have it professionally spliced? ( I still have all the wiring my ka)

*side note* i paid 900 and this is what is useable on the car-sr20det motor and transmission-fmic with piping-cxracing aluminum radiator-twin electric fans-rebuilt t25 ( he threw this in since the one on the sr is blowing smoke)

(basically a front clip, rims, brakes, etc)

when it comes to wiring, im a noob....flame me if you want, i could care less but any serious opinions and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

Well it would all depend on whether or not the sr harness got burnt up or not, but to be on the safe side I would spend a lil extra money and get a new harness and get it wired up, I mean you got a hell of a deal on the engine why not throw a couple extra dollars to make sure you don't have any wiring issues, and wiring issues are a pain in the a** to figure out. Just my 2 cents.

Thats what i was thinking but i wanted some other opinions. the damage stops at the fire wall, if it wasnt in the engine bay, its pretty much gone.

you dont need any of the interior harness for an SR swap

If the entire engine harness isnt damaged and it was wiried in correctly it should be close to a plug and plag affair, asside from some very minor wiring in the KA body harness.

Nice deal, seems like you don't need much to make it work. I would just try using the harness in that car as long as they're both s13 chasis's.

Just unplug and replug into yours.

You basically got an entire front clip for $900, you got lucky do you really wanna push it? Spring for the new harness & ECU, then you can sleep easy at night knowing your going to be ok
