Out of curiousity, how much power can a SR20DET put out (not stock, with decent mods and including internals)--- how far has that motor been known to put out?

a friend of a friend of my step brother twice removed has a sr that puts out 9,834,651,328,674,356 bhp!

but seriously expect 4 - 600 with some decent internals and upgrades.

550-650whp on stock block. Mazworks has done 1000rwhp on there built motor using a T88 and nitrous. Be prepared to spend some money to do anything over 450whp. Im thinking of going GT40R and a 35 shot of nitrous which all said and done will cost around $4500 and thats not including upgrading the Fuel System and ECU.

can you pull off those numbers without upgrading the fuel system?? i wouldnt advise it, not saying it cant be done.. its just that you will be running soooo lean, your car will weigh 75 pounds wet, out the shower, if you get me it will be too much air, on the air/fuel ratio.. a buddy of mine tried something similar (non-SR' related), his components were beasting, but he didnt tune his car... ran too lean, and then --poof-- all that, for just a few weeks worth of fun..

1000hp out of a 2.0 SR is not hard to do. We alread did all the R&D to accomplish that. As DrifterProdigy85 said, it will take some money as the block needs alot of work to handle that power. We are building a 2.5 SR that I'm confident will handle 1400hp on methenol. Maybe we will see this soon.

When i say upgrading the fuel system, i mean a major overhaul. Dual Fuel Pumps, 1600cc injectors, Stainless Braided Lines. The whole nine yards. Not like the average 850cc stock lines, stock fuel rail, single Walbro like majority run. I just gave the price of $4500 on what the Turbo Kit itself costs for the Manifold, DP, Turbo, Turbo Lines, and some odds and ends to bolt on.

The are some 1k HP SR's. It seems for racing purposes the usable limit is around 800. The engine is pretty much capable of anything if you have the pocketbook.
