Before I get yelled at, Im not asking which is 'better'... but would it be easier to spend the $800 more for an s14, or take that money and put it into an s13? Also anyone who has purchased their swap from phase2, please leave input on them? Thanks fellas.

phase2, heavy throttle are both good motor swap places

I think heavy throttle is closer to you than phase 2

anything further, it's been asked many many times but I'll sum it down. s13 comes with t25, better port design but no vvti. s14 comes with t28 a slightly better turbo, not as good port design but have vvti

-many aftermarket cams except a few out there disables vvti-most people change out their t25 or s14 t28 to at least s15 t28(better t28 than the s14 version due to better mid section)

what I personalyl feel is that if you have s13, get s13 sr, if you hvae s14, get s14 sr simply because it's already made for the said chassis, imagine having to further modify certain parts beacue you have the wrong chaassis

Give me a few weeks. I am swapping out my S13 redtop for a S14 blacktop for a few months for fun in the next week or two.

Differences with the s13 SR's as well. Look for a late model s13 redtop or a s13 blacktop unless you're willing to cut up your oil pickup yourself. There were a few other details I noticed when building my red and black sr's but I forget. They're pretty irrelevant to the oil pickup. Do a search.

Well I swapped in the S14 SR on Saturday. The engine definately feels smoother and the ball bearing turbo allows for a quicker low end. If I could keep this engine I would.

S13 SRs are the most preffered from what ive seen (even non nissan cars have this SR motor), mainly because of its high-flow head design. the good thing about these motors are also if you want to get a bigger turbo, the later turbos bolt onto the turbo outlet with no problem and only require minor oil line mods. with the S14 SRs if you plan on beefing it up past 280-340HP, the Valve Timing System is completely obsolete. All in all, it depends on what you are going to use the SR for.
