If you have been following my problem, i picked up a 90 hatch with an sr.. but the sr wasnt running...

he said that the harness was fuked, so i rewired all of it, and i got another engine ground..

so i actually got it to crank, which it didnt before..and it would just turn and turn, unless i floored it, and then it started up.. it smoked ALOT.. it was blue smoke, and it smells like its running really rich..

well after first start, it ran with my foot on the gas, it blew off, and ran pretty well.. but i take my foot off the gas and it dies.. it wont idle... you guys have any ideas???

Blue smoke = burning oil. Burning oil usually occurs on SR's from blown turbo seals, blown head gasket, or valve stem seals going bad.

Also MAFS wiring, leaks in the vacuum hoses, and leaks in the intake piping will all cause the engine to stall at idle.

if none of these would account for your idle problem. Do you have a BOV?Atmospheric BOV's will attempt to make the car die after releasing metered air. The looser the BOV the more it will try to die off of every boost run. The tighter it is, the more boost it will hold in, and the idle will be much more stable, but the BOV wont release as easily when the throttle plate closes. This causes the turbo seals to go out quickly, then you start to burn oil.
